As a member of the Management Team, the Senior Manager, Regional Operations East leads a team of Professional Drivers, operations, and administrative staff. The Senior Manager is a people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and is comfortable working with stakeholders across the country to achieve strategic objectives while overseeing the day-to-day functions of a trucking terminal and fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team of driving and non-driving staff in Eastern Canada where team members practice ABT values, work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, and practice transparent and effective communication with urgency and purpose.
  • Foster an environment of excellence in which staff are supported and hold themselves accountable.
  • Lead and support regional operations staff, ensuring that loads are efficiently assigned in a manner that maximizes asset utilization.
  • Collaborate with regional and national stakeholders to ensure that customer loads arrive on time, effective communication is maintained, and customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Actively contribute towards planning and executing upon strategic goals for the organization.
  • Lead the performance management and review process for regional staff, working closely with Human Resources in building an effective and high-performing team.
  • Oversee regional safety & compliance matters ensuring Provincial and Federal legislation is met including DOT, HOS, TDG, drug and alcohol testing, US/Canadian border crossing and terrorism prevention legislation.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Five years of Trucking experience, with a minimum of two in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong leadership skills & experience in the development of people and teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate complicated and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple challenges.
  • Firm support and commitment towards workplace health & safety.
  • Strong knowledge & experience with MS Office Suite and Teams.
  • Strong customer service focus and attention to detail.
