Arnold Bros Transport Ltd. is dedicated to our drivers and customers. Dispatchers are a first point of contact and play a vital role in aiding and guiding our fleet of professional drivers. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Dispatcher will be a skilled communicator who excels in problem-solving and time management.
Please note that hours for this role will be 7 on 7 off, Wednesday – Tuesday, from 7pm to 7am.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Trace fleet assets to identify the status of each unit and address any trip complications affecting on time deliveries.
Maintain driver performance by consistently coaching on topics such as mileage, home time, performance issues, and load quality.
Liaison with Planners and Customer Service Representatives to resolve complications that may arise during trips.
Communicate with the Safety Department regarding any issues related to Driver hours of service, medicals, license expirations, safe driving, and over the road incidents.
Communicate with customers regarding the day-to-day movement of loads.
Develop and maintain a positive rapport with drivers, ensuring that their safety and wellbeing is at the center of all decisions.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Minimum of grade 12 with post-secondary education an asset.
2-3 years’ experience in a similar role or driving experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize the daily responsibilities using multi-tasking skills.
Excellent computer knowledge & experience specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook. Experience with TMW software is considered an asset.
Strong ability to collaborate with others and work well within a team environment.
