All our decisions are made in the interest of safety and wellness, and the Safety Compliance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring we continue to operate as one of the safest fleets in North America. Reporting directly to the Director of Safety, Compliance & Claims, the Safety Compliance Lead is primarily responsible for ensuring that our fleet of professional drivers comply with all federal, provincial, and state regulations. The Safety Compliance Lead is an advocate of workplace health and safety initiatives and compliance, and actively participates in campaigns and initiatives that strengthen our position as an industry leader in safety & compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all regulatory permits and certifications remain current and recertify as necessary. 
  • Coordinate and administer the Drug & Alcohol testing program. 
  • Audit driver activity and coordinate with the Director of Safety, Compliance & Claims to provide guidance on HOS violations, unassigned miles, personal use, and all other safety compliance matters.
  • Create and administer reference checks as requested and ensure driver abstracts are ordered and reviewed regularly.
  • Assist the Director of Safety, Compliance & Claims in developing and administering safety campaigns that reinforce and improve upon our existing commitment to workplace safety and compliance. 
  • Prepare and present reports as required, including reports on Driver Compliance, Vehicle Inspections, Tickets, Drug & Alcohol Testing, and Dangerous Goods Recertification.


Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Firm support and commitment towards workplace health & safety and compliance.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong knowledge & experience with MS Office Suite and Teams. Experience with TMW software is considered an asset. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to quickly adapt and approach complex or sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy. 
  • Ability to work efficiently within a group setting.
