Reporting to the Director, Western Region, the Dock & Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Winnipeg dock, yard, and facility buildings. The Dock & Facility Maintenance Manager provides leadership and support to all dock and building maintenance staff and ensures that the safety of staff and the public is always maintained. The Dock & Facility Maintenance manager is a skilled delegator, however when the need presents itself, isn’t afraid of rolling up their own sleeves to get the job done. This is a role for an experienced dock or facility maintenance supervisor who is interested in making the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily guidance and support to Dock and Facility Maintenance staff.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the dock, ensuring that shipments are efficiently loaded into trailers and that operational demands are met.
  • Ensure that the yard remains clean, organized, and safe to utilize by drivers, maintenance staff, and external vendors.
  • Perform daily yard checks, confirming that equipment is operating efficiently, equipment is placed appropriately, and that the yard and dock are organized and well maintained.
  • Ensure that company owned equipment within the yard remains organized, allowing for efficient utilization by the Operations team.
  • Ensure that all building facilities are maintained and kept clean. Where necessary, facilitate the acquisition and installation of new furniture.


Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Firm support and commitment towards workplace health & safety and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good knowledge & experience with MS Office Suite and Teams.
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to efficiently delegate tasks to others.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, reach, walk, climb, twist, sit and stand for extended periods of time.
